17 November 2012 - It is with deep regret that we must say goodbye to our beloved drummer Luke "the Puke" Weyermann. Luke has chosen to leave the band for a new musical project. Thanks for all those years of drumming and generally being the coolest and funniest bloke around, Luke. We will miss you.
And we will now search our hard drives for all those incriminating videos of Luke that have accumulated over the years of his active service with the Hillbilly Moon Explosion and post them on the net. Your doing, Luke.
27 September 2012 - IT'S OFFICIAL: The Hillbilly Moon Explosion will be releasing a NEW ALBUM in 2013. Studio dates are booked. Greg Townson is producing. Release is February 2013 on The-Freed and Jungle Records. Let's get down and go to town.

6 July 2012 - Unfortunately the Landenbergfest has not removed our name off its Website or FB event page. Fact is, The Hillbilly Moon Explosion will not, repeat NOT be playing tonight in Zurich or tomorrow in Montreux due to the fact that Oliver is still written off sick (as stated some weeks ago). 18 June 2012 - Band member down: Oliver has been written off sick for one month. Doctor's orders to cancel all work and appointments.
Unfortunately this means all the concerts during the said period are off. Oliver and the Hillbilly Moon Explosion are very, very sad to have to cancel the concerts and are sorry for the inconvenience caused.
Get well Oliver - and The Hillbilly Moon Explosion will be looking forward to rocking the stage again in the summer!

6 June 2012 - Fribourg and Muddy Roots gigs CANCELLED - official statement:
One of our children has had an emergency operation. She is recuperating well but needs to remain in hospital at least until the end of the weekend. This requires her parents by her side since she is still very young.
As an added complication, Oliver was diagnosed with mononucleosis and was told to quit work for a week.
We deeply regret having to cancel and hope to play Fribourg campus Fever and Muddy Roots Europe another time.

20 January 2012 - Etta James R.I.P. Talk about coincidences - sad coincidences in this case: Chance would have it Emanuela has been tooling around with 'At Last' for a number of weeks now. We here at HME central got pulled back into Etta's music after watching 'Cadillac Records' in which Beyonce portrays Etta James and sings a version of 'At Last'. Now, Beyonce's version is, frankly, sublime. But interestingly enough even her version can't hold a candle to Etta's original. Her intensity and directness are so tangent, it's uncanny. And then there's the old production which just oozes dynamics and flow in a way that is simply unsurpassed. Everyone please buy, beg or steal a copy of 'At Last', put it on the spinner and turn up the volume. Here's to you, Etta. xxx.

15 October 2010 - The Hillbilly Moon Explosion performance at the Case a Chocs in Neuchatel tonight is cancelled due to severe illness of 2 band members. It is with great regret that we have had to come to this decision.
The Festival Medecins du Monde with Lofofora and the Raveners will go ahead as programmed. The promoters are currently searching for a replacement for the Hillbilly Moon Explosion.

28 September 2010 - A quick update on the Eurovision request http://bit.ly/9rAEZ5:
1. Emanuela's replique was quick and curt. And cannot be printed here.
2. We have not been advanced as the final nominee for Switzerland as yet. We are being leaned upon to take part in the preliminary round out of which the final nominee will be selected. This by means of a self-procalimed 'expert jury' and the telephone votes from a casting show-type TV audience. Uh oh.
3. Thanks to all of you who commented on looking forward to hearing 'Johnny Are You Gay?' et al. on TV. The ESC rules state however that the song performed must be as yet unpublished and unreleased. While we have a bunch of very cool songs in the pipeline, we don't like the idea of having to give up song rights to Swiss TV as stated in the regulations.
4. All in all this is shaping up to be a venture full of stumbling blocks where you can lose your patience, self-esteem, credibility or mind. Ergo: 1.
On the other hand, we might just give Sparky a call ...

12 November 2009 - "The Hillbilly Moon Explosion are in reduction". That was the status message on studio engineer Neil Brockbank's Facebook page. Meaning: We've successfully completed tracking and are now mixing. I.e. reducing the 8, 16 or whatever tracks down to 2 stereo ones. So far this has been a great, great session! We won't let you in on too many secrets quite yet. Maybe just this: There are 2 songs in Italian. And a duet between Emanuela and an equally legendary and very extraordinary guest singer...

22 June 2006 - You may have noticed, we've got this world cup going on, so let's get a couple of things straight: We're for England. Also for Switzerland. And for Les Bleus. And oh yes, there's too much Italian heritage here for us to ignore the Azzuri, so ... a bit of a mess, eh? Especially since most of these teams have so far been a bit crap. Meanwhile, Emanuela is in love with Wayne Rooney.

She's been spotted in downtown San Diego at vintage car dealers, pointing at E-Types and 'Vettes. It'll be real estate agents next. You watch.
